The problem with corn tortilla soft wraps/taco wraps is that normally they are small, and also prone to breakage and crumbling if they are folded, rolled, or handled much. Mission Tortilla Wraps solve a couple of these problems by first of all being large enough to make a decent-sized wrap or rolled enchilada. Hats off to Mission for helping to resolve this gluten-free dilemma.
For my first try at using these tortilla wraps, I made a turkey, lettuce, cheese wrap. The wrap held up wonderfully to the rigors of being wrapped and held during long meal time. The only problem was there was a certain taste…a bit of an aftertaste for me that was a bit distracting for me. Next, I decided to make chicken and cheese enchiladas using the wraps. I served them fresh out of the oven for dinner, and my wife (who is not gluten free) noticed the unusual flavor of the wrap.
If the folks at Mission could just work on the flavor enhancement, they’d have a winner in my book. Have you tried them? What did you think?
