Frustrated cook here…I’ve attempted on several occasions to make a gluten-free alfredo sauce, but after making a big mess in the kitchen, I was left with little success to show for my efforts. Being unable to enjoy fettuccine alfredo left a big hole in my gluten-free possibilities.
Imagine my delight to find gluten-free Classico Alfredo Sauce. I’ve tried this a couple of times now, but each opened jar has left me thinking that either I don’t remember what good alfredo sauce tastes like, or this alfredo sauce isn’t quite measuring up to the memory I have.
Still craving alfredo, I opened up another jar of Classico alfredo sauce tonight and decided to try a little experimenting. I added dash of salt and some ground black pepper, and even though this is already a four-cheese sauce, I went ahead and added a bit of parmesan cheese and stirred all that into the pot of bubbling sauce. For these efforts, I was rewarded with a decent serving of gluten-free alfredo!
If you’re an alfredo sauce lover like me, has this sauce worked for you? If you “tweak” it like I did, what things have you done to enhance the sauce?
