Katz has done an excellent job of re-creating, in gluten-free style, the unique texture of the toaster pastry. This pastry has a flaky texture, almost like a perfect pie crust. (Hey, maybe Katz could make and sell pie crusts!)
The pastry has just the right amount of sweetness. It seems that some producers think that if a little sugar is good, then, a lot is better, so it’s nice to have a product where the gluten free crust is the main attraction, and not needing to complete with some super sweet icing, or sugary filling that’s overpowering the whole experience .
I tried toasting my breakfast pastry, but the it didn’t fit into my toaster without cramming it in, but no worry, I enjoyed the pastry un-toasted and found it to be delicious.
Have you tried it? What are your thoughts?
