Heat these up in a regular oven (not microwave) per instructions, and right out of the oven, you’ll find a golden-brown roll that slices open to a hot, steamy roll that’s ready to melt butter. It has the look and feel of a perfect dinner roll. While the experience was nice, I couldn’t help but be subtly reminded that I was eating a gluten-free substitute that was unfortunately, a little inferior in taste and texture to its wheat-flour counterparts.
I love Udi’s! They will always have a special place in my heart for their pioneering of delicious gluten-free bread, and for their many other quality gluten-free products. I’ll keep buying these rolls as often as I can, but I’m still looking for that perfect roll that lets me forget that I’m eating something gluten-free.
