Oftentimes, I when I go to a Thai restaurant, I scan the menu and consider all the delicious things that I could order, but I almost always end up ordering the exact same thing…Pad Thai…simply because I love it so much and I don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to enjoy one of my favorite oriental dishes.
I was excited to find this Miracle Noodle Pad Thai at my local Walmart, and since the directions were easy…just microwave and you have a hot Pad Thai meal in mere minutes, and the price was fairly reasonable, I decided to give it a try.
Unfortunately, I found that I couldn’t finish the meal. The product didn’t look, smell, or taste anything like the Pad Thai dish that I’ve come to love so much. The “plant-based” noodles are one of the first differences that I encountered. While I’m always happy to try anything new, and also anxious to try things that are “plant based” this noodles didn’t measure up to the Pad Thai experience that I was anticipating. It’s hard to beat the traditional Pad Thai rice noodle, and after all, rice is a plant, is it not? Additionally, the sauce lacked the tried and true Pad Thai sweetness. I can’t see myself purchasing again.
What do you think? Has my judgement been spoiled by all those previous dishes of Pad Thai that I’ve enjoyed over the years, and now I’m just not open to the new experience this product offers, or was I right to be disappointed? If you’ve tried this product, what do you think?
