BFree White Sourdough Bread

Apparently, the quest for satisfying gluten-free bread goes on.

I had tried BFree bread previously and had decided at the time to stick with the other breads that I’d found that were a better match for me. Recently, I saw that BFree bread featured an “improved recipe” and since sourdough is one of my all-time favorite breads, I decided to give this BFree sourdough bread a try.

Contrary to my expectations, the sourdough flavor in this bread comes through loud and clear.  I’ve tried other sourdough breads where, for the most part, it was difficult to distinguish the sourdough from regular bread. The sourdough flavor in this bread is unmistakable!

The texture of the loaf is somewhat improved in this new recipe, as compared to earlier versions of BFree, but still lacks the texture and flavor that I crave. BFree is easy to spot because of the way they slice their loaves lengthwise, rather than crosswise. I find that this makes for a larger sandwich slice.
